Spew

I.

Reveries recall your sorcery, eternally you the one who never ages

How does it make one feel to swallow whole the keys to mortal cages

Sought out amongst the rest to be forever wed, you the midnight air

That laughs and cries at mourning men and conquered women that always dare

To hear your whispered words upon the wind that touch our hopeless faces

An ancient book carved by aged hands, we look within its holy pages

Yet our pleas ring out against cracked bells, on un-tread paths; where is your cell?

Can you see the bloody bodies dragged on endless roads, dear soothsayer?

Or hear the serpent hymns that echo throughout your holy lair?

Alas! What a sight that shall forever haunt the minds of we who fell

Beast, we hope that you shall rot within Gaia’s hair

II.

Innocent flesh your perilous wings hath given and taken away

Do not my screams affect thee? For I have been trapped by the burden of life yet you stand there with a wistful glee

Oh Time, time, do not seem so elated for the beat in the night is not your cooing, but what has led to my undoing

My oiled thoughts that run down my rusted train track back stacked against the odds of you

Is there no conscious in one that cannot feel and if so why do we kneel?

And questions that have me rock back and forth upon dusty cobblestones men paved years ago that I should never know because you so callously flew them away

Farewell?

With that gentle melding of wing and flesh you spit fire into our eyes and take for this is what you do, but cant you ever be late?

But I now say, the wild call of despair you sing and keep

Has never been so soothing on this my last sleep.
