The Spits

Photobucket

Thriving within the garage punk scene and sound, The Spits were born out of Seattle. The group has released four self-titled albums with songs like "Black and Blue" and "Rip Up The Streets". With an electro pop-punk compliment to there sound The Spits have a unique talent for personifying music. Tracks range from an aggressive puppet tired of having her strings pulled unto a heartbroken chain smoking robot short circuiting and looking for a way out. They mark a new way of producing New Wave with a raw sound that is both malleable and indigestible. Other releases from the group like "Schools Out", "Greyhound Bound", and "19 million AC" allow for consistent playtime without earwax after-schock. One of my personal favorites, “Live In a Van” is similar to Iggy Pop (vocally) with a back track like The Okmoniks, and an overall feel of The Murder City Devils. They are currently with Thriftstore Records and on tour.
